There’s no doubt that letting go is hard. Especially, when it’s letting go of things we cherished, people we loved, and old versions of ourselves. However, letting go is actually healthy and allows us to constantly be in a state of growth. When we let go of things that are no longer benefiting us in our lives, it actually brings a sense of power and freedom. Old habits may be comforting, but that doesn’t mean they are beneficial. Think of it as a tree holding onto dead leaves. Sure, those leaves are like family and have been apart of that tree for a long time, but there comes a time when the tree needs to let go. And, if any of you have ever seen what falling leaves look like in autumn, you understand that letting go can actually be really beautiful.
Find Your Values
When you take a good hard look at your life, it is important to determine what you value in it. Once you realize what you truly want and need in your life, it will become easier to see what you are holding onto unnecessarily. Figure out what matters the most to you. Find how to optimize your happiness by focusing on positive, mindful, and healthy things in your life. True freedom comes when you don’t cling to people or things but when you find your value from within. When you know your worth, it becomes so easy to let everything else go. You don’t need anyone or anything giving you value once you start claiming it for yourself.
Reflect On What You Want To Recieve
It is important for us to think about what we truly want out of life. When we think about true happiness, it doesn’t always come in the form of items. Sometimes, true happiness is achieved by removing the negativity from your life. Maybe, it comes from detoxing most things you’ve been surrounding yourself with. When we escape our normal routines, we are able to reflect on what we liked about them and what we didn’t. So often, we hang onto things or people because we think they are adding value to our lives, but when we truly think about it, they aren’t giving us what we want to receive.
There Is Strength In Letting Go
When we have emotional or physical clutter in our lives, it can be hard to see through it all. It can be very difficult to see that remaining in the midst of all that clutter might just be easier than actually changing. However, you gain the power back when you become strong enough to remove that clutter from your life. You free yourself from that hold it had on you. It’s natural for us to cling to things in life. But, ask yourself if those things truly make you feel good, or if they just feel comfortable. Enlightenment comes when we are able to stay in touch with our inner selves and trust ourselves enough to let go of what we don’t need.
Are you clinging to dead things in your life? Remember that trees let go of their dead leaves and then they get new ones. But, true freedom comes when we are brave enough to loosen our grip. When we are willing to let certain aspects of our lives fade away, we are truly living in freedom.
